K+ TAKO LABO by TAKORA K Futori

“Hey Graphics! Do a little dance to be seen.”
A TRAVELLING POP PATTERN EXHIBITION & STORE

“Hey Graphics! Do a little dance to be seen.” is a kaleidoscopic dance of pop colours and shapes, inspired by the unlimited narrative potential that patterns possess. Following two successful shows in Tokyo and Kyoto, K+ TAKO LABO is Japanese graphic artist TAKORA K Futori’s first solo exhibition in Southeast Asia.

Through TAKO LABO, TAKORA can share his pattern graphics with the world in more tangible ways. His trademark bold and pop graphics are applied to hand-dyed textiles and paper goods. “I wanted to create a way where my graphics could be more involved in our everyday life,” he says. The textile format provides him with a larger-than-life, three-dimensional canvas to experiment with.

TAKORA will be presenting seven patterns brought to life through a range of textiles, silkscreened by hand in eye-catching colour combinations. The exhibition will also feature a capsule collection of handmade dresses (designed by AKIKO HAMADA from NINP), fabric items and accessories.

We invite you to discover a world of dancing graphics at K+ TAKO LABO by TAKORA K Futori, which runs from 28 July to 10 September 2017.
